The Super 8th District Golf Outing was June 12th at Locust Hills. The weatherman called for rain and thunderstorms all day. Although we got rained on, it wasn’t enough to stop play. In fact, it stopped raining about the last hour we were on the course. This year we had 19 teams representing 12 of the District’s Lodges.
Bob Sambrosky’s team finished first with an impressive 14 under par score of 58. Bob Sargent’s team finished a close second at -13, and Lamar Noble’s team finished third at -10. Bruce Gardener’s team took home the prize for high score.
The awards for closest to the pin went to James Bowling on the front nine and to Loren Miller for the back nine. Long drives went to Jim Ratcliff on the front and John Osborn on the back. The longest putt was made by John Jewell.
A delicious dinner of either pork or chicken followed a great day of golf and fellowship. Mark your calendars now for next year’s event on June 11, 2011.
